Two things about this movie I want to say before giving my review:
1st about the movie.)
I heard negative and positive reviews for this movie (which is the case with all the movies).
Positive reviews were polished with statements like
a.) Yaar, jabda hil gaya haste-2
b.) Poora hall hass raha tha bhaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
c.) Main to haste-2 neeche gir gaya
Trust me, I couldn’t agree to all these statements, I thought they were exaggerating.
Negative reviews as usual for an akki movie:
a.) One more crap from akki
b.) Flop FLop FLop
c.) Give me my money back plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
d.) Saala, kya bakwaas tha ye, kuch samaj nai aaya.
And interestingly all of them were on INTERNET. Anyways,
2nd thing about the movie.)
This is neither an AKKI movie, nor paresh’s nor suniel’s nor kat’s. THIS IS PRIYAN’S MOVIE ALL THE WAY and 26+ characters helped him making this “one of the most difficult movies” of all times
Yes, this is “difficult movie” reason, it was close to impossible for any director to make such a movie with so many twists and turns and handling 26+ characters with such a flawless direction and still making it entertaining and gripping for audience.
But priyan made it, I still don’t know how he made it, but he did.
Hats, caps, shirts, lehangas, all off to him.
Review:
After all these complexities about the movie, he still didn’t leave any space for continuity flaw or break in the flow of script.
Somewhere during the second half i started thinking that priyan has forgotten the main plot of the movie (kidnap) amidst all this hoopla. But then my friend told me that akki is locked up in the cupboard, that’s why the kidnap thing is paused, and suniel’s dialog saying “,Wo nitin saala, pata nai kahan band hua pada hai.” made it more clear.
First half was slow in comparison to second, but was a solid support to a laughter extravaganza coming in second half.
The links in the movie are so confused but still tightly connected that you hardly lose the track.
This was not a star driven movie for sure, it was a director and characters driven movie. And both have driven it really well on the roads of harsh expectations of audience.
The hall was laughing and i could really see a guy (i was sitting on the corner seat) in the same column falling off from the chair.
When my jaws started paining i remembered the first statement. My friend was weirdly laughing and punching the chair after every few mins. I thought as if he has finally found a girlfriend like archana puran singh.
There was a time when I had to force myself from NOT laughing, because of my severe cough and bad throat.
All the characters acted in a very balanced way except Paresh, he was loud, may be the character’s demand was like that.
Good to see Vikram Gokhale getting a full length role, he deserves that. I never thought he can do comedy also.
As usual female leads have nothing much to do infront of these giants of the most difficult trade of acting – comedy, except Archana Puran Singh, SHE IS THE FEMALE LEAD OF THE MOVIE.
And about male leads. 26+ CHARACTERS ARE THE MALE LEADS, not AKKI. He became a part of this amazingly talented crowd of people.
Akki was even off-screen for 20 mins, but audience didn’t miss him at all.
Negatives:
1. Paresh’s loud act.
2. Songs in unwanted places.
3. Climax.
4. At some places Akki was repetitive.
Positives:
1. SUPERBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB DIRECTION (priyan’s critics might say that it was a remake of HIS OWN MOVIE or whatever, but working with a new cast makes it even more difficult).
2. No preference to stardom………….great act, saw this thing happening in TZP last time.
3. Non-stop comedy.
4. Not a single moment of boredom.
5. Johnny Lever…………This man is back with a bang. Akki might have pulled the crowd, but johnny has kept them sitting there.
Recommendation:
1. Don’t sit there with a detective lens in your hand, grab it when producers claim to make a serious movie. It wasn’t a serious movie.
2. If you had a bad day in your office, WATCH THIS MOVIE, if you had a break up with your girl, WATCH THIS MOVIE, if you have constipation, WATCH THIS MOVIE (you might end up shitting on your seat while laughing).
Bottomline:
Other producers might think 100 times to make a comedy movie now, because DDD is the benchmark of comedy movies now. I predict that no comedy movie will be able to outshine DDD in coming years, even priyan would find it difficult to outdo himself.
